Richard Zielenkiewicz a.k.a. Monsieur Z is obsessed with the groovy, retro sensibilities of 1960’s Hollywood and the French Riviera, circa 1950. The graphic nature of his work and his innate sense of style have kept him a favorite forerunner in the worldwide illustration scene. His immense skill as a draftsman brings a natural fluidity to his final digital renderings, synthesizing and harmonizing his final art digitally. Mr. Z’s attention to detail, as well as his marked fascination with architectural penmanship, add further depth to his work.

Mr. Z’s vibrant, colorful and edgy imagery has been published globally by the Redken (USA), Guess, Evian, TGV (France), and Bombay Gin. He has created numerous animated television commercials as well as television cartoon series, including the French series Ratz. Along the way he has dabbled in product licensing including an extensive homeware line. His most notable collaboration has been with Jason Wu with a collection of ultra-chic dolls that were sold at FAO Schwartz, NYC. A feature film, “French Riviera,” has been in the works in collaboration with world-renowned French film director, Luc Besson.

Mr. Z studied graphic design and 3D computer graphics at Ecole Superior Art Graphique Estienne in Paris, later working as an art director and director of commercial animation. Mr. Z resides in the South of France.
