Izak has been a true blue New Yorker since the winter of 1996, when he left his hometown Paris—the source of much of his creativity and fashion—behind. Year after year, he pondered finding a place in the country. However, it took nearly 20 years and the pandemic to completely shift his world.
He found a charming house on a lake in the Connecticut countryside and charged full force to becoming the country-fide version of himself. With less knowledge of real estate than fashion, little did he realize his house was a summer lake house with no running water in the winter. The pond was the source of water, and low and behold, once winter arrived, the lake froze over. The lessons were challenging— Digging wells, winterizing, snow tires, landscaping, and becoming part of the larger community.
Izak will always belong to Paris and New York, but now we can see him in our mind’s eyes, continuing to produce his sumptuous artwork and living the life of a fashionable countryman. Here’s a peek…
Spending time in the quiet of the countryside has given Izak a chance to develop more of his own projects. After years of frustration with his licensing program, he simply little by little dismantled it and now enjoys creating products such as cushions and home products of the quality that he can stand behind.
