Marco Gallotta Joins Traffic
We are very excited to share that artist Marco Gallotta has joined Traffic for representation. Marco is an Italian-born, New York City-based artist. He is celebrated for his unique artistic vision and use of paper-cutting and decoupage, as well as drawing, painting, and printmaking. He applies his vast expertise with mixed media with exquisite craft and artisanship. Layers upon layers of cut-out photographs, paper, with a variety of materials are strategically overlapped to create ingenious compositions. His art work is available through a variety of exclusive galleries and is now also available to purchase through us.
He has worked together with some of the world’s most coveted brands including Chanel, Ferrari, Nike, Vogue, Dolce & Gabbana, Festival of Spoleto (Italy), and fashion entrepreneur Renzo Rosso.

“My inspiration is the complex relationship between humanity and nature. To me, they are a single entity. We, literally, are nature and play a part in everything on this earth where we live. My work does not try to imitate nature but is inspired by elements such as the wind, water, and fire.”

“My concepts start with an image. It can be a photograph I took, a photo from a magazine, or a collage I did. Then I add paint or ink, sometimes wax. Paper cutting is the final step. I carve the paper with a scalpel & will usually follow my inspiration & not a set of guidelines.”

Apart from enjoying time in his studio, Gallotta loves to take his passion for art outside of his studio as well. He is a part of a project composed of a group of professionals that help college students through a mentorship program.
