Estee Lauder entrusted our artist, Izak Zenou, with the creation of their holiday packaging and display illustrations for the Holiday 2020 season. This project began two years earlier, with meticulous planning to bring Zenou's unique style to life. However, as the Covid lockdown unfolded, the brand faced an unexpected challenge—they were unable to shoot their traditional holiday campaign.
Rather than let this obstacle hinder the project, we pivoted. Using the stunning campaign artwork already completed, alongside many additional assets created specifically for this initiative, we embarked on an ambitious venture: to create a fully animated holiday campaign. Traffic played a central role in producing the animation, assembling a talented team that spanned from London to New York. This global collaboration ensured that every aspect of the animation was executed with precision and creativity, despite the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic.
The animated campaign was presented across all of Estee Lauder's digital touchpoints, including social media, the company website, digital media, and in-store presentations. The campaign was a resounding success, standing as a bright and festive beacon during a challenging and uncertain time. It marked the first time customers began returning to stores, drawn by the magic of the illustrations and the allure of the product line. The response was overwhelming, with products selling out almost instantly, making this campaign a shining moment in an otherwise difficult year.
