Hungry?

Here in the office, we have been spending time with some of Lucile Prache's illustrations. This has proven to be more of a challenge then we realized, simply because we can't pull up any of her work without getting hungry! Lucille's illustrations are often of a culinary subject matter. Her organic, natural approach to her work make us crave whatever she draws .

Artwork has the power to bring us to some of our favorite places and in Lucile's case those places are restaurants. We put together a list of recommendations, all inspired by Lucile's illustrations.

At Traffic, we don't have to search far for good coffee, with our favorite coffee shop, Corrado, just around the corner from us. It is not only a staple to the Upper East Side, but to the fabric of the work day here at Traffic.

When your sugar craving kicks in, we suggest Magnolia's Bakery, especially if your just visiting the city. The location in Grand Central Station will give you the best experience, as you are surrounded by more eating, shopping and even an apple store. Whether you're sightseeing, getting your phone fixed or actually waiting for a train, Magnolia makes it that much better with a cupcake or some banana pudding .

If you going for drinks, we recommend Sel Rrose, an oyster bar with a parisian spirit, located downtown. While there is something for everyone there, their menu celebrates Rose and thinks of fun ways to mix the drink. Of course you can't go wrong with their truffle fries either.

Finally we are recommending a grocery store, because we know you can't eat out every day, but Trader Joe's can make you feel like you do. Although we warn you, be prepared to fight the crowds as it is always a popular spot in the city. They have continued to open stores this year including a location in the Upper West and one in SoHo. We should also warn you, their cookie butter is dangerously addictive and decadent. Consumer at your own risk.

We know finding your favorite spots in New York can be challenging when there are so many options, but there is solace in the fact that where there is so much competition every option is a good one. And when you need a little guidance, hopefully you can refer to our list.
